Woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep so went out to see if there was anything to get some pictures of. The moon was a nice waning crescent so I snapped a few shots. Was a bit difficult to get exposed properly. The crescent was about 29% illumination which was causing the camera to want to over expose it in live view. I ended up taking a number of pictures with different settings.
What ended up working the best with the Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens was F8 at 1/200th and ISO 200. I didn’t see any extra detail at F11 and a bit more softness wide open.

Yesterday was rainy all day. I worked on the office a bit. Turned on the TV, wish I had left it off immediately. Murders, Earthquakes, Mayhem. Prayed the Lord would return and end all this craziness. Luckily the rain was finished this morning and was able to go out and take some picture. Decided to work a bit on macro photography. Subject is the wife’s old rust bucket a 1975 International Scout. What do you think?

The Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens is simply amazing. Such great results time after time. Never a focusing issue, snaps to focus like it has ESP to know what you want. I also am amazed by the stabilization provided by Tamron’s VC. I was able to get acceptably sharp pics using the D7200 in the 1.3x crop mode (which gives a 1.95 total crop) all the way down to 1/100th sec hand held. That is really amazing. That is at almost 1200mm field of view at that crop mode.
Going to 1/200th sharpens a bit more and 1/400th almost every image is tack sharp. With VC off I have to be at 1/1000th or higher to get tack sharp images.
The moon started out an orange red color, turning to bright yellow, and as it moved above the horizon became closer to the soft silver we love about it.

The Super Moon was out last night and it was the closest it has been since Israel returned to their land. What a great time to remember to pray that the Lord Blesses Israel and through them Blesses all of us.
November 11th, 2016 my 44th birthday! The weather finally is getting to be beautiful and balmy. We have been suffering without air conditioning for a bit over a month with temperatures hitting nearly 100F every few days and the other days the temperatures getting well into the 90s. It has been over 10 degrees above normal since the end of September.
Heloise and I were supposed to go on a trip up to the bay area for my birthday but that was put on hold because of the AC and my sister going through a custody battle. So we ended up staying home and planning on a few day trips to local destinations. Poor Heloise hasn’t been able to drag herself out of bed though so I have been sitting with my butt planted on the couch.
We went out for a meal to Chili’s and picked up a German Chocolate Cake at the Victorian Cake Company before going to see Dr. Strange in IMax 3-D. Chili’s is what it is, food service canned food nastiness so I hate faulting them for what they are. I don’t think we will be going back. The only reason we ended up there is Heloise had their Tacos while on training and thought they were good and wanted me to try them. Everything was soaked with rancid oil soaked spice and salt. I didn’t even torture myself with thinking about how I could be having El Charro’s for lunch, or sipping a Pinot while snacking on cheese and baguette at V. Sattui.
After lunch we took the cake home and went to see Dr. Strange in 3-D. Easily the best 3-D movie I’ve seen. I’m not really big on the glasses though they seem to prevent much peripheral vision of the screen and are blurry outside your central focus area. I have somewhere around 180* field of vision and love soaking up a huge screen. We both like the movie and storytelling. If you haven’t seen it try to watch it in IMax before it is out of theaters.
Left the theater and opened the cake box when we got home. We let it get close to room temperature and cut a piece. They had said it wouldn’t be true German Chocolate since they would need to order the ingredients but they could make the cake similar with just Chocolate cake and Chocolate, Almond, Coconut frosting. It’s a good cake but it isn’t a German Chocolate cake. I think I would have been better going for a white or yellow cake. It lacks the richness I want from a Chocolate cake. Left me thinking about the cakes Mom made when I was a kid, or Linda made me. Or adding onto the lunch time torture I could have had a cake made by Rose’s Dream Cakes.
Heloise and I enjoyed our day, … well half day but I guarantee you she enjoyed her sleep. It’s just too bad things don’t work out as often as we would like. I appreciate all the birthday wishes everyone sent me.

Thank you Lord for all you have done for us. Please Lord Jesus show your light to all who cast their ballots today. Help them to choose the leaders who will do your will. Leaders who will show faithfulness to you and lead this great nation to a peaceful existence with the other nations. A leader who will show love and compassion for people all over.
Lord Jesus give those voting wisdom to choose how to vote on bonds, propositions, and minor elected officials that reflect your will. Keep all those who wish to do harm in chains. Bind them so they can do no harm. Let every voice be heard no matter how meek.
Lord remind all the politicians of your scripture Ephesians 4:23-32 particularly 4:29. Let them teach these versus so all can live a Christian life. Thank you Lord for your Grace, I love you.
